Dental Sealants - Proven to help prevent cavities

How sealants are applied

The tooth is cleaned.

The tooth is dried, and cotton is put around it to keep the tooth dry.

A gel is put on the tooth to make the surface rough. It helps the sealant stick to the tooth.

The gel is rinsed off and the tooth is dried again.

The sealant is applied in liquid form and hardens in a few seconds. A special light is used to help dry the sealant.

The sealant dries clear. With regular dental check-ups, sealants can last for many years.
